Free delivery and free returns across the UK
All orders to mainland UK are dispatched with free shipping via UPS or DHL, tracked from dispatch to delivery. Delivery typically takes 2–4 working days. Every order comes with a 14-day home trial: if the rollator is not right for you, return it free of charge.
Can I buy a rollator without VAT in the UK?
Yes, if you qualify for VAT relief. Rollators can be zero-rated for VAT under Schedule 8, Group 12 of the Value Added Tax Act 1994 when they are bought for the personal use of someone who has a disability or long-term illness. Simply complete the VAT relief declaration at checkout and the relief is applied to your order — there is nothing to claim back from HMRC afterwards. Customers who do not qualify pay the standard rate of VAT. If you need a copy of the declaration, we can supply one on request.
Can I get a rollator through the Motability Scheme?
No. The Motability Scheme lets you use a qualifying mobility allowance to lease a car, a wheelchair accessible vehicle (WAV), a scooter or a powered wheelchair. Rollators and walking frames are not part of the Scheme. If you receive a mobility allowance such as the mobility component of PIP, you are free to put that money towards buying a rollator yourself.
NHS, council and other help with the cost in the UK
Several routes may help with the cost of a walking aid in the UK:
- NHS and local council — the NHS lends walking frames, including rollators, and in England your council can provide one free of charge after a needs assessment. Speak to your GP, a physiotherapist or your council's adult social care team. These services normally supply a standard model from their own equipment stock, not a specific brand such as Trionic.
- Access to Work — if you need a rollator because of a disability or health condition to get to work or do your job, the DWP's Access to Work scheme may contribute towards specialist equipment. Apply through GOV.UK.
- Personal Independence Payment (PIP) — PIP is paid to you and can be spent as you choose, including on mobility equipment.
- Charitable grants — organisations including the Royal British Legion, SSAFA, Turn2us and local community foundations may provide equipment grants. We can supply supporting documentation on request.
Our customer service team is happy to provide quotations and product specifications to support a funding application. Contact us and we will respond within one working day.

Frequently asked questions — rollators in the UK
- Are rollators VAT-exempt in the UK?
- They can be. Rollators are zero-rated for VAT under Schedule 8, Group 12 of the Value Added Tax Act 1994 when bought for the personal use of someone with a disability or long-term illness. Declare your eligibility at checkout and no VAT is charged.
- Can I get a rollator on the Motability Scheme?
- No. The Motability Scheme covers cars, wheelchair accessible vehicles, scooters and powered wheelchairs, not rollators. You can, however, use a mobility allowance such as PIP towards buying one yourself.
- Do you deliver to Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland?
- Yes — free delivery to all mainland UK postcodes. Remote Scottish Highlands and islands may require a small surcharge; contact us before ordering if you are in a remote area.
- What is the best rollator for UK pavements and country walks?
- The Walker 12er is the most popular choice for everyday UK use — it handles town pavements, parks, gravel paths and light countryside tracks. For heavier terrain such as moorland or forest, the Walker 14er or Veloped Trek is the better choice.
- How long does delivery take in the UK?
- Orders placed before 14:00 on weekdays are dispatched the same day. Standard delivery to UK mainland takes 2–4 working days via UPS or DHL with full tracking.
