Veloped User Guide

Trionic Veloped

The Veloped has a unique 3-wheel design, but as you can see it has in fact four wheels. It’s aimed to be used as a walking aid, especially for people with the desire to be physically active outdoors. Developed with a focus on walking and facilitating access for the user, the Veloped is one of a kind. Its main characteristic is a dual front wheel with the capacity to overcome obstacles up to 15 cm high (14" wheels). The force required to overcome a smaller obstacle is also greatly reduced, when compared to a traditional wheel. The 3-wheel design, coupled with the front wheel’s suspension and the air-filled tires, increases both comfort and accessibility on all uneven surfaces.

The Veloped is tested and approved according to the international standard ISO-11199-2:2005, for a maximum user weight of 150 kg.

Safety

  • Both brakes should be locked in parking mode before you use the seat.
  • Before you start walking with the Veloped, make sure it’s completely unfolded.
  • Be extra careful in steep terrain and on slanting ground.
  • The stability of the Veloped is tested with a basket load of 5 kg. If you load additional weight to the basket, make sure to distribute the weight evenly in the basket.

Correct Grip Height

How to set the correct height of your Veloped

Many rollator users set the grips too high, thinking that it will promote a more upright posture. But this actually worsens the posture, and it affects the stability negatively.

You can determine the correct Veloped grip height by doing as follows, as recommended by all physiotherapists and all rollator manufacturers:

  1. Stand upright with your back as straight as possible, with your shoes on and with your arms hanging in a relaxed state along your body (elbow slightly bent).
  2. Measure the vertical distance from the floor to the wrist bone = recommended grip height.

With the grips at wrist height:

  • You do not have to raise your shoulders, and you can unload a greater part of your body weight.
  • You can walk closer to the hand grips, which results in a more upright body posture.
  • A more vertical weight distribution (downwards) improves both the stability and the brake performance.

Change Front Wheel Setting:: Easy-steering mode/Lower position:/Direction-steady mode/Upper position:

The Veloped has a front wheel suspension with the capacity to climb obstacles up to 15 cm high (14”). The wheel has two different settings: one for easy-steering and one for direction-steady mode. There is an adjustment handle on the front wheel, placed between the wheels, that can be shifted between these two settings.

Easy-steering mode/Lower position::

Offers easy turning with retained climbing capacity.

Direction-steady mode/Upper position::

Offers increased climbing capacity, suspension on uneven surfaces and a higher directional stability. The Veloped is more difficult to steer, but it performs better off-road.

Customer Reviews

Elisabeth Walter
A Dream Machine
I spent many, many hours at the Trionic facebook group, asking questions, reading all member comments about every aspect of the Veloped. I placed my order for the 12" Tour version based on those glowing and also quite candid reviews. As it transpired, every good thing posted about the Veloped turned out to be true. This rollator was easy to assemble, and i am tragically bad at assembling, it is solid, and stylish, balances beautifully over (for me) tricky terrain. It has made my fuller outdoor life possible. I can't recommend it more highly, even at the breathtaking Australian price of $3000. I would also like to mention the superb after-sales service of the Aussie Trionic rep David Zohs. I emailed the dumbest questions ( where is the lock I ordered? Oh, there it is, factory attached!). David followed up by phone immediately, twice. Such impressive support means a lot when you live in my far-away country. Six stars to Trionic support.

For anyone reading this review, I suggest that you build up your use of the Veli more slowly than I did. I raced around for two hours on the first day, and my underused shoulder and leg muscles complained bitterly the next. I needed a more sensible, realistic approach, more like 15 minutes a day for two weeks to achieve some appropriate fitness to be comfortable.

Complaints: None. If I had any suggestion, it would be a gear change option to slow down the Veli on hills. The brakes work brilliantly, but going downhill, it would be nice to have gear traction.
Familie Pols
We are very satisfied
My husband is the one who 'walks' with the Veloped and the Walker (bought second-hand). He has no problems with the Walker. As for the Veloped, he would like the handles to be a little further back in order to have more leg room. Is it possible to make an extension?

I would love to find a way to make sure that when the Veloped is folded... it stays closed. At the moment I am making it work with a dog collar between the two vertical bars. I found this idea in the Facebook group.

I am very satisfied with the Veloped. It allows me to walk better and to be free to live again. I am really glad to have it.

I am currently mostly housebound due to…
I am currently mostly housebound due to recovering from broken ankle and ribs! Also the recent weather has not helped as it has been wet and at times icy!

I have made about six or seven short walks from the house to local to our local roadway, weather permitting, and found my Veloped excellent. During my time in the house I have had the opportunity to study the Veloped carefully and I must say that machine is well designed and beautifully constructed.I am more than pleased with it and hope for better weather as I am confident it will help me greatly.

May you have a wonderful and peaceful festive season. Brian Shaw.

Excellent
Love this, has helped me to walk further than I use to as I can sit, take a rest and walk for a bit further. It has the most comfortable seat. Highly recommend. It is also great for my elderly dog when she gets tired.
Heather Walker
Par Excellence!
Absolutely delighted with my Trionic Veloped Tour that I purchased recently. It has been an absolute boon and I’m now able to get around cut more easily than ever before. The fact that it is an all terrain walker, means that from pavement, to cobbles and stoney pathways, over grass and uneven surfaces it takes them all in its stride. Would thoroughly recommend as it is light enough for me to lift to put in the car without any undue effort. A big plus in my estimation, especially as you get older and don’t have quite the same strength and often no one around to assist you. Having such taken it with me on a trip to Scotland, our driver, when loading it into his vehicle, called it ‘The Lamborghini’ edition of a walker. A worthy compliment indeed.
David Rothschild
Excellent
Everything we experienced with Trionic was excellent. The pre-sales advice, the ordering process, communications, delivery and (of course) the product. It's superbly engineered and easily assembled. More than that. it works, we have tried other walkers and none of them them have coped in our large bumpy hilly garden. The Veloped Tour now enables my aunt to walk around her garden twicx a day, something she had not been able to do for a year.

Veloped Tour: an excellent product from an excellent company
The concept, build and design of the Veloped Tour are of unsurpassed excellence, as is customer service. Meticulous, careful attention has been given to even the smallest detail and to the quality of the materials used. It is easy and quick to make adjustments to suit oneself and using the Veloped is a delight.

But, best of all, this Veloped enables me to walk again, comfortably, giving me the chance to go places I haven't been able to for many years. Magic!

Mrs Ann Halliday
I am really enjoying using the Veloped. I can walk much better and it relieves my painful back making me able to walk further without needing a seat. The only quibble I have is not being able to fold it. My son can manage it, but my fingers are not strong enough. I can’t push the button down. Is there a knack to it. Otherwise it is excellent.
Dietrich Stahl
The best outdoor rollator on the market
The admittedly high expectations of the Veloped (see previous reviews) were easily fulfilled. No other rollator I know is as stable, safe and reliable as the Veloped and so qualified for use in the countryside, woods and forests.
However, the high stability has its price - the relatively high weight of approx. 12 kg and the dimensions that exclude quick transport in the boot, at least for disabled users.

For my walks in the immediate surroundings, however, there is nothing better - for the city stroll, I use the lightweight titanium rollator.

Can still be improved
Unfortunately, the seat is a bit uncomfortable, it sags. We solved the problem by inserting a small board into the cushion, which makes it a little more comfortable. Apart from that, my mother-in-law has not had any other complaints, except for a squeak that has started to creep in.

Veloped Tour ;-)
I would just like to say what a life changer this Veloped has been for me. Having been diagnosed with spinal cerebellum Ataxia type 6 a few years ago, I now have very little balance.

I can now walk independently using my Veloped with confidence and security.
It has given me the freedom to walk around my garden and the countryside where I live, and now I can even go shopping again.

Our son’s older dachshund, who can’t walk a great distance now, loves to ride in the front.
Thank you, excellent quality.

Veloped Tour 12er M black/reflex/red
I use this for walking my dogs every day. I am delighted with it. I wish that I had known about it years ago. I have used a walker for years, but have never had such a good one as this. I walk a lot better with this one. We can have longer walks and go many places I could not before. When I got it I still had my twenty year old dog and I know she enjoyed her walks with it as she could ride in it when she got tired! I am sorry to say she has gone on her last ride now, but my young one still enjoys the walks. Sorry I have not got a photo!

We bought the Tour 12er for our 92-year-old mother so that she can continue to walk her beloved forest paths after a triple pelvic fracture, which has permanently limited her mobility. After initial protests (I don't need a rollator, I'm not that fragile yet), she is absolutely thrilled with her "all-terrain vehicle" and covers long distances in the forest that were no longer possible in the past, even before the pelvic fracture. On the way, she takes breaks by "doping" a little, sitting on the fabric "board" (seat) of the rollator. In my opinion, there is no comparable product and if our dog ever becomes weak, we will buy a Veloped Tour 12 for us and him so that we can transport him in the "front bag" and let him rest. It is certainly better than a "dog trolley", because it also offers the "owner" the possibility to take breaks with sitting and resting..... Conclusion : We will NEVER give the Veloped Tour 12 away. !!!

A great product.
I am 93 and was always a lively walker until a problem with my legs occurred a few years ago. That resulted in my walking with a stick - not very satisfactory. Rollators are not so common in the UK, and when my Swedish relative suggested one, I resisted at first. A pity! I finally gave in and bought the Veloped, which was delivered rapidly. It is great - lightweight, easy to use, and easy to fold for storage. I can now walk faster, further, and more upright, and am getting the exercise I really need.

Exactly what we were looking for!!
The first thing I bought was the Veloped Tour version for my mother and I was very pleasantly surprised! The quality is a laugh compared to the rollator you are currently using. Now I have commissioned the second one for my father. I will definitely recommend you. I am convinced of your work and thank you for the quick delivery. Greetings to the entire Trionic team.

A new life after 7 years
I've only had my Veloped a week, and every day I've taken small excursions around the city and the running track… After TBE and meningitis, my balance is not as it used to be, on top of that I have foot arthrodesis that hasn't healed, so in 3 years I haven't been able to take any walks. Despite wet leaves, logs and stones, I've felt completely safe on my walks.
You couldn't be more satisfied than this, goodbye to the wheelchair when walking and visiting the city.

Like winning the lottery!
Due to my illness, COPD, knee joint operations and balance problems caused by spinal surgery, I could only walk in a limited way in our large garden, which has no paved paths. I absolutely could not cope with a normal walker. Therefore, this model was like a lottery win for me. Not only can I carry my oxygen device without any problems, but I can also do small gardening jobs and sit comfortably when I get tired. The order and dispatch went off without a hitch and in the shortest possible time after a telephone consultation. Thank you very much!

Perfect
I bought this rollator for my mother. She is very happy with it and it gives her the confidence she needs. She can walk on her own whenever she wants without the fear of falling. The Veloped is perfect for country paths and roads. It looks elegant and is very easy to handle.
Dorothea Weckmann-Piper
The walker is really good.
I like being in nature and I can walk on paths that would otherwise not be possible for me. Unfortunately, there's only one big problem for me: I suffer from rheumatism and sometimes it's too difficult for me to push the walker, especially uphill; walking up and downhill causes me great problems and also pain, and I can only do it by exerting a lot of effort.

This walker is probably better suited to people who still have a lot of strength in their arms. It's a pity...

My Veloped/ Walker 12 has everything...
I have two little dogs who are older, just like their owner. So, I was looking for something that would suit the three of us.
It had to be all-terrain and have a large basket.

I searched the internet and found what I was looking for at the Swedish company Trionic.

The advice was excellent, and I decided on the Veloped/ Walker 12.
My joy was great when my Veloped arrived.

After some practice with two dogs, including walking on forest and meadow paths, I have to say I found just the right thing for me.

The basket is big enough to carry a dog.

My Veloped rides easily, it is stable and well-made and also looks good, I am very satisfied.

If you have somewhat higher demands on your walking device, the Veloped/Walker is a very good choice.

I have had my Trionic Veloped for two years now and I am very satisfied with it.
It is easy to manoeuvre, stable holds a lot and looks cool.
I have tried other walkers with puncture-free tires, but I get muscle pain in my arms from them.
I do not get that with the air tires of the Veloped.

The rollator works great in the woods.
Here's a picture from spring last year when I picked lilies of the valley.

I am not at all satisfied with the handles...
I am not at all satisfied with the handles! When I phoned to order the cork grips, I got the answer:

You can buy grips for a mountain bike in a bike shop, they fit!
I should have saved myself the whole purchase!!!
I am very disappointed! There is more...

-----------
Answer from Trionic:
Dear Mr Wojde,

We use high-quality handles that are ergonomic and angle-adjustable.

Whether a particular handle fits a person or not is, however, individual.

The cork handle has the same shape as the rubber handle, only the material is different.

Since the shape of the grip does not fit your hands, we have instead, to help you, recommended other bicycle grips, which unfortunately we do not have.

We ask for your understanding.

Yours sincerely,

The Veloped has become my faithful companion. I can only recommend it. My range of motion has increased fourfold, giving me a better life quality. Thanks to the team for such a design. I would like to see it distributed more in Germany as well.

My order directly to Sweden was very smooth and after four days I already had the Veloped at home. Thanks to Sweden also for the good and personal advice.

I can recommend the Veloped with great enthusiasm.

Eye-catching appearance – excellent rolling characteristics
Adjusting the wheels was a bit difficult at first, but thanks to the help on the phone from customer service, it was quickly done.

After a little practice – adjusting the brakes – the handling is also easy. The look is extraordinary – it stands out.

However, it is too heavy for me to fold and lift. That's why I only gave it 4 stars. The rolling characteristics are excellent. Even a not-too-high pavement edge can be climbed with some practice.

It has made my world bigger!
I'm a 62-year-old woman from the Netherlands and last year I suffered a CVA, which caused my right side to be permanently unusable. So since then, I have been stuck in a wheelchair.

During the last year, I went through therapy to try and recover some use/movement of my right arm and leg. During the therapy, I met a fellow patient who had a lot of benefits from a Trionic Veloped to help him walk again.
As it turns out, the Trionic Veloped is the only walker you can use with one hand.

Its all-terrain wheels make it possible to walk everywhere – on uneven pavement, curbs, and cobbles and get by with limited ability in one of the legs.

I asked for information directly from Stephan at Trionic, and he answered all my questions very kindly and directly over both mail and telephone. We were able to put together a Veloped Tour for me to try.

It arrived duly, perfectly packed, and turned out to be easy for me to assemble.
Then I went to work!

Over the past two months having worked with the Veloped, which I had named 'Thomas' (the tank engine), I can honestly say it has changed my world. From being someone in a wheelchair to someone who stands and engages with other people on their eye level again.
The Veloped has me walking upright again!

For shopping, a doctor's appointment, or just to go for a walk with friends for fun! In shopping centres, a park or sightseeing. I can take it into restaurants and theatres easily.

It will take from work from you, as you will have to practice on the Veloped daily, but you will find improvements in your capabilities daily.

For anyone living in the Netherlands, who wants to know and has one-sided paraplegia, I would be happy to share experiences. I am sure Stefan at Trionic can put us in contact.

Delighted with my Veloped Trionic. It has totally exceeded my expectations.
It takes obstacles in its stride. Very comfortable on the arms, easy to manoeuvre. Simple to remove and replace wheels for putting in the car.
Very happy.

Due to ongoing health problems, Maurice (as my 12er has been dubbed) and I have not had as many outings as I would have wished but on each occasion, he has not let me down on the rough, uneven ground, whereas my conventional Rollator would balk at the smallest twig or stone and throw me off balance.
Stefan was extremely patient in helping me make the right choice and he and the rest of the team should be very proud of the quality and design of this walking aid.

The Veloped is a great invention...
The Veloped is a great invention and fills the gap that other conventional rollators cannot. The large smooth-running wheels and the twin wheel in the front make the ride wonderfully easy and provide support and, most importantly, allow you to walk more upright and almost between the handles. Walking is more fun again.

I purchased this for my husband, but he will not use it, don't know why as he hardly walks anywhere as he is not very steady on his feet. Having said that I keep thinking I will make use of it myself. At the moment I have only moved it a short way, but it is SO lovely to walk with and the little 'basket' makes a lovely bed for one of my small dogs. Definitely worth every penny.

The Veloped was delivered quickly…
The Veloped was delivered quickly. I am very satisfied with the technology and equipment. It can be used very well in the intended areas in the city and its surroundings and offers the hoped-for relief and help. I am very satisfied with that. I arouse the attention and interest of some passers-by. The purchase was a good and right decision for me.

Fantastic
Being 82-year-old suffering from knee osteoarthritis, this walker finally gives me more freedom of movement both in the city and on rough terrain. Thanks to the stable and elegant style, it stands out from all the walkers I knew and does not give you the humiliating feeling of weakness usually associated. The Veloped is worth every penny.

Veloped - An Absolute Necessity!
In 2011, I was cycling to the bus station to take a bus into Manchester where I worked. I was hit by a car driven by a 74-year-old man who wasn’t looking for a cyclist (I had right of way!) and he struck me as he turned in front of me. My head struck his windscreen and I was thrown over his car. Luckily it happened in front of a CCTV camera because he would have lied to the police and blamed me. I was badly injured and spent 8 months in two hospitals and a rehabilitation centre.

I could not go back to work and cannot work again as a result of my injuries. A serious head injury meant that my walking was very unsteady and still is. It wasn’t until I found the Veloped online and bought one (the Veloped Tour, I think), that I was able to go out again.

By this time, I had a dog and we began to go out together, once a day, in the mornings, for a walk. I live in the Peak District National Park where there are plenty of hills and slopes. There are no pavements for me to use but I have used the Veloped where I’ve had to go up and down pavements. It is so easy to use when there is no dropped kerb, thanks to the patented double wheel at the front. It certainly makes life easy for me.

I love using my Veloped because it makes walking much easier for me. It has plenty of space for me to carry things like a box of tissues for myself, a water bottle for my dog, binoculars for cuckoo and other bird-spotting, a mosquito net for help with midges, waterproof gloves, etc. I’ve bought rear lights for the Veloped so that I can be seen if a car approaches. I have my front light which lets me be seen by cyclists too. Having a Veloped to use really makes living life better. I would recommend having a Veloped to anyone who needs it.

An investment in health and independence
After five years of loss of mobility due to neurological problems I took the plunge and purchased a Trionic Sport Veloped with a comfort seat. My previous experience had been with a wheelchair, crutches and a lightweight rollator and I had considered buying a mobility scooter. I am so pleased that after contacting the office in Sweden I followed their careful advice to purchase a Veloped as it has given me confidence, improved my posture and enabled me to regain my independence. The 12" wheels on the Veloped enable me to navigate paths, tracks, kerbs and sand in comfort and the brakes and adjustable frame give me a sense of security. Although the Veloped is large I am able to disassemble it to put it in the car quite easily. The basket is spacious to carry dog walking equipment and even my luggage when flying to go on holiday last year! Overall I am so thankful to have made the choice of a Veloped over a scooter, as for me this is a choice in maintaining my health.

Great Ferrari among the rollators
My mother, 84 years-old, can finally walk on the streets of the city again without pain in her shoulders and wrists. She doesn't feel the cobblestones at all. Overcoming train tracks is now child's play. With her previous rollator, which was not a standard model, the wheels always turned sideways. The seat for a break is very comfortable, the basket is enough for her shopping. Her new Ferrari has been admired several times.
We should have bought it much earlier.

I am very satisfied
I am very satisfied; the rollator is exactly how it should be. Perfect to handle.

Trionic Veloped – it's changed my life
I received my Trionic Veloped Tour at the end of September. I am so glad that I've got it.

I used a walker before but even with that, I was loath to go for a walk and would find lots of reasons why I shouldn't go. All that has changed now with my Veloped. I find that I walk better, my posture is better and can walk a little faster, for much longer distances. My life has changed – I enjoy my walks. I live by the sea and it's as if I am appreciating the view once more.

I would definitely recommend that if you are considering buying a walker or rollator look at Trionic, and don't be put off by the price, it's worth every penny.

It has made a big difference to me and my husband as we now go out for walks together and I love that.

In June 2021 I bought my Veloped Tour…
In June 2021 I bought my Veloped Tour 12er M and I was immediately impressed, my expectations were fully met. Quality and technology allow me to use it every day without problems. The pinnacle of Veloped capabilities: September 2021 on the North Sea beach, proved how easy and agile it allows me to take walks directly on the beach, in the deep sand!

Many thanks to the designer of the Veloped, Stefan Kindberg, with his invention I have achieved a significant improvement in my quality of life.

The service provided by his company is exemplary, questions are answered immediately, and solutions are proposed.

Veloped Tour
I love this product as it enables me to walk outside with my dog & visit gardens & properties near my home. Delivery was quick, service excellent.

I have had a previous Veloped for 7 years, following knee replacements, but it was stolen from my front garden. I recommend, therefore that you secure your Veloped when unattended even for a short while.
Thomas Gross
Trionic Veloped good off-road, but difficult to use
The Veloped goes very easily off-road and on uneven paths, is easy to steer and effortlessly overcomes obstacles such as tree roots or sidewalk edges.

Unfortunately, it is difficult for old people with not so strong hands to set the brakes and it is almost impossible for them to fold it together.

Goethe garden house and my Trionic
On August 28, 2021, I was in Weimar with my daughter, exactly on her and Goethe’s birthday! A beautiful path led to Goethe’s garden house. Because there were no seats nearby, that day I had to stop every few meters and gasp for air. How much I wished for the Trionic Veloped! When I got home, I immediately sat down at the computer and ordered the Trionic Tour, as Stefan recommended it to me over the phone. I am very happy with the purchase. It’s so comforting to be able to sit down and rest at any time during a hike! Thanks to Goethe!

Excellent product. Sturdy, well made and perfect for walking both in our village and the local forest. The design for going up curbs is brilliant. Brilliant and efficient service, thank you.

The best set of wheels we could find.
My wife's Trionic, as I call it, has exceeded our expectations and has given my wife freedom to roam and has coped with rough and uneven ground as though it was flat! Plus whenever she wants to rest, finds the seat comfortable.

We adjusted the handles so that they fitted in the small of her back rather than fully down and marked that height, as well as the normal height so that we do not have to get the light at the right angle to read.

It gets round shops with no trouble, however, we have not visited flat pack furniture shops yet :-)

When we were deciding on the correct one to get found that Stefan was very helpful giving unbiased information, Thank you.
Some of the locals are quite upset they did not know about the range of Tronic's aids to walking.

Becoming Independent
I bought my Veloped in July 2021 and I have never looked back. Having suffered with a back and balance problem for several years, walking with the Veloped keeps my back straight and I am no longer concerned about my balance as the frame gives me confidence when I am walking. I can now walk much further than I was able before. I can't recommend the Veloped enough. I have used it on rough terrain while on holiday and it managed it all without a problem. I feel it has given me my independence back which at 75 years old is just amazing.

Trionic Veloped Tour
While looking for a new rollator to suit the rural area we live in, we came across the Trionic Veloped. After much help and guidance from Stefan, we ordered the Tour model and were absolutely delighted when it arrived on the scheduled day.

We immediately began to put it together following the very clear instructions in the box and it all went together very easily. We are very impressed with the quality of the materials and the engineering behind the design. We have used it every day since and it has fulfilled all our expectations and allowed us to walk safely and comfortably in our locality. We would highly recommend it to anybody looking for a similar product and we look forward to many more adventures as the summer approaches.

Very satisfied - good stability
Since my father has the Veloped, he's been walking more and in a much safer way. It makes him feel much safer while walking.

We are very satisfied with the Veloped and very happy we bought it. Compared to other walkers (we also had an extra rollator to use outside), the Veloped is much better for my father, who walks very unsteady. Road unevenness is better compensated, and the braking technology in particular offers a high level of safety. He also partly walks forest trails with the Veloped. The Veloped is easy to stow in the trunk as it can be folded up.

We promptly recommend the Veloped and will buy it again without any doubt.

Grateful Thanks.
My husband has osteoporosis of the spine. Purchasing the Trionic Veloped has made a wonderful difference to both our lives. My husband can now step out and walk in a much more upright position. I no longer have the anxiety that he may fall, or that we have gone too far. If he tires, he can sit. This also allows us to stop for a chat. It is such a well designed item. Everything has been designed to perfection. This Company gives a wonderful service, and we can’t thank them enough for the improvement to our quality of life.

More life quality again thanks to Trionic-Veloped
I am absolutely thrilled with the Veloped that was delivered last Monday on time. The meticulous packaging (very sturdy cardboard) made me already curious. Thanks to the detailed and richly illustrated assembly instructions even at the age of 83 I was able to assemble the Veloped within a short time without outside help.

I have now walked with it several times over uneven terrain (rough gravel roads, forest paths, forest trails - over roots, cracks, etc.). It is really all-terrain, and thanks to the large wheels it can easily overcome small ditches that lead through the path. Curbs are for the Veloped no problem. You no longer need to pay attention to the lowering edges of sidewalks, as it happens with other rollators.
The Veloped can be folded up without much effort, the wheels can be removed with one click, everything can be stowed away easily.

In short: Thanks to the sophisticated technology, the Trionic-Veloped is easy to use, especially for elderly people, and brings back quality of life.

“To Boldly Go Where No Rollator Has Gone Before”
I bought a Veloped Tour (with 12-inch wheels) online from Trionic in May 2020 for my 86-year-old father. To everyone’s delight, my father was immediately able to walk much faster, much further, and much more easily than before.

One of the specific difficulties had been the very uneven ground all around my parents’ house, especially gravel paths. Trying to go for a walk on gravel with a “conventional” rollator was very hard work and very frustrating. In contrast, the Veloped has been able to handle rough terrain with ease, right from the first outing. My father finds it extremely easy to use and to push, and can now walk without stopping for an astonishingly long time. Instead of being confined to the small patio/terrace by the house, he can now go and explore all around.

When I asked my father for his review, his comments were, “everyone admires the design”, “easy and pleasant to use”, “a quality product”, “easy to fold” (and easy to squeeze to make it go through narrow doors). As an engineer, my father especially admired the design of the brakes. He asked whether the Veloped could be turned into a wheelchair (it can't), but I suspect this is because he can now walk much further than before, and maybe would rather not have to walk all the way back! Maybe this is an idea for the “next generation” of Velopeds? In the meantime, my father uses the seat when he needs to rest, and finds it quite comfortable.

My father also mentioned that he would have appreciated a small (bicycle) pump as part of the package, in case the tires need to be inflated. However, this has not been an issue so far (and pumps are readily available from other family members, or I believe as a separate accessory from Trionic).

Overall, I am thrilled to see the immediate positive difference that the Veloped has made in my father’s life. I feel the Veloped is allowing my father to rediscover his adventurous self, and enabling him to “boldly go where no rollator has gone before”!

I would like to add that it has been a pleasure to communicate with Trionic (Stefan), who has always responded to my enquiries (by phone or email) with speed, technical knowledge, and efficiency. At first, I thought Trionic was not responding to emails, but their initial responses had been misdirected to my “junk” mail.

One last comment: the Veloped was delivered to Belgium by UPS (courier service), which allows package tracking and should normally result in prompt delivery. However, my parents’ house is a bit hard to find, and in the end, my family had to collect the 18kg box from the UPS distribution centre. So if you place an order, I would suggest including plenty of details to help UPS find the delivery address for this very special package.

M Cummings

Walking out is FUN again !!
A beautifully designed and engineered product, and being so robust gives so much more confidence in comparison to lesser competitors. After a few months of lockdown, I can now get the exercise I need - and really enjoying it.

Thank You for such an excellent product, which I highly recommend.

It may be more expensive than others - but is definitely in a class of its own, with great customer service !!

A well thought through and super processed construction! There is no comparison to conventional walkers, it is like an expedition vehicle for the elderly young at heart. Price consistent with the best workmanship, I firmly recommend it as a loyal companion on all routes!

Walking whereever you want
There are many little towns in Germany, where the pavements are cobblestone. The Trionic Veloped makes it easy to walk around. The wheels are the best you can have, also for walking in the woods and fields.

Very strong workmanship. Easy removal of the wheels for transport in the car. The basket is practical for jacket, dog leash etc. The height adjustment of the handles is very easy. The curved handrail is very useful for going uphill. Tested over roots and wild boar holes… all without a problem. The seat can be slid forward for more walking space.

My Trionic "Fishing Ghillie" keeps me fishing [and walking].
I am aged 84 with bad legs and balance;a passionate salmon fly fisherman. This year my balance is so bad that I can't fish in the normal way[standing up in a rocky river] without falling in !However my Veloped Sport is enabling me to keep fishing.I was recently fishing on the river Dee near Balmoral,Scotland and it worked well, fishing whilst sitting down in 30cms of water;although at times I was asking too much of it because of the rough ground and the size of the boulders but a friend was able to pick it up and move it down so I could fish the length of the pool.In some easier parts of the river this should not be necessary.Extremely well made and designed with the service from Trionic being really first class ,helpful and friendly.

Fantastic product!
The Veloped Tour is the Rolls Royce of rollators (infact it isn't correct to call it a rollator-its so much more) I thought long and hard about making this purchase as it isn't cheap but am so glad that I decided to buy it. For someone like me who has mobility issues, it is a godsend. It is sturdy yet light to push and the seat is very comfortable. The basket holds loads making it a joy to go shopping with. It performs brilliantly in shops and off road and avoids the juddering sensation you get on uneven surfaces with a traditional rollator. It folds and fits into the back of my Meriva and I wouldn't go anywhere without it now. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Veloped and the company who invented it. Stefan is so helpful and gave me the opportunity to try it out for a day and to return it free if I wasn't happy with it. Excellent service and wonderful product!

Outstanding
Although the Veloped Tour is an expensive investment, it is well worth it.
It has given me mobility that no other rollator provides. I can now navigate uneven terrain, cobble stone streets, curbs and even pot holes with ease. I intend to take it with me to Europe for use on a river cruise from Budapest to Prague. Hopefully, it will enable me to keep up with the group during walking tours. I could not be happier with this amazing product.

Brilliant Product
After buying a Veloped Tour in 2014 I had no hesitation in purchasing the 9 er Rollator to help support me around the home. It is much sturdier than other walkers I have tried giving me the support to help with my balance and walking which is affected by MS. Although costing more than other walkers it is well worth the money. The online support given by Stefan was so helpful. I have no hesitation in recommending this product. Janet Berry

Most life-changing piece of equipment I've ever bought!
I suffered a severe spinal injury in February, 2009, just slipping on an icy path.
Overnight, I went from an independent, hard-working, active 43year-old to having to be hospitalised for a month, bed-ridden for 3 months, and convalescing with kind friends for 9 months, until I was, eventually, well enough to return to my home home - in a wheelchair, with an adapted vehicle, and a mobility scooter for 'longer' trips out, as my injury permitted.
I have been left permanently 'disabled', with a partially paralysed leg - and a very 'delicate' back/spine.
As well as the 'physical' injuries, I found the 'emotional backlash' equally as hard to deal with.
Having worked with children with special needs, prior to my injury, I was quite used to the 'stigma' that being 'disabled' entails, but to experience the difficulties of getting around in an 'able-bodied world' first-hand led to my feeling massively frustrated, and exhausted with effort, as well as very fed-up - to say the least!
My gradual rehabilitation has involved the researching and purchasing of various items of equipment, as required...starting with a wheelchair, then a mobility-scooter...and, eventually, the Consultant agreed that, in September 2010, I could begin to try and learn to walk again.
The problem was, I live in a very rural location, on a farm, surrounded by woodland and meadows - which is often muddy and wet (this is England, after all!).
I tried a 'conventional rollator' to start with - but couldn't manage the uneven ground, and was terrified of sliding, as the tires and brakes seemed insufficient, and my spine was jolted over bumps...
However, the mobility scooter was also struggling with the terrain - so, in desperation, I put in "all-terrain rollator" into the search engine on my laptop - and up came the VELOPED!
It seemed everything I was looking for - combined in one piece of equipment.
Was it too good to be true?
I ordered one to be tried out for the week-end....and can honestly say, it began to change my life.
The quality and design is breathtaking.
Every bit of the 'machine' has been so well thought-out and functional - and, suddenly, I not only felt comfortable being 'upright' again, but SAFE.
The all-terrain tires and magnificent brakes gave grip on mud and snow, and the pneumatic design took the 'bumps' and jolts away from my spine, and were absorbed by the Veloped, instead.
The adjustable handle-bars were ideal - raising the rubber, sturdy, hand-grips at just the perfect height for me - whatever my condition that particular day.
If I was tired, I can lower them and put more of my weight through my arms (thus taking the strain off my spine for a while), whereas, on a 'good' day, I could have them higher, so I am walking more 'upright' and with less upper-body support.
The quick-release lever moves them, easily and quickly, into position when the Veloped needs to be folded for transport in my little car - and the numbered column means I can easily put the hand-bars up to 'my' individualised height when I'm ready.
When walking, the 'sporty' seat slides right into the centre of the frame, so, unlike other rollators, I am walking 'upright' in the middle of the frame - in the perfect walking posture.
Good, comfortable grip is established on the handle-bars with my hands, and the effective brakes mean even steep downhill sections of wooded paths are suddenly accessible to me again, and safe (as when my legs are weak, the Veloped brakes 'for' me).
In fact, the Veloped is equally at home' in Town or Country.
The 'climbing-wheel' enables me to negotiate tree roots or rocky ground in the woods, pebbled beaches and coastal paths by the sea, and pavements, shop-doorways and kerbs in the Town.
Crossing roads is easy - even when the basket is full of groceries - there is no lifting involved!
When I am tiring, the 'sporty' seat is easily and quickly slid into position, and provides a comfortable and supported means of sitting - so that I can take necessary rest when in a supermarket queue, or can enjoy taking time to enjoy a favourite view, when out with my dog.
(I have a Staffordshire Bull Terrier who is nearly 13 years old - and even he opted for a ride home in the basket of the Veloped last week, when we were out for a particularly long walk!)
It is so lightweight, also, and folds down for transporting in my car - I have found it no problem to take on an aircraft either.
The quick-release wheels also remove for storage, and, when I had a puncture, recently, it was readily repaired by dropping the tyre off in a bicycle shop for the inner-tube to be patched, whilst I went in the hydrotherapy pool!
Physically, my muscle-tone, stamina and posture continue to improve with every outing, and, being enabled to negotiate steep hills once more, I am experiencing aerobic exercise for the first time in over 2 years - to the benefit of my lungs and heart.
Perhaps the most 'life-changing' aspect of my obtaining the Veloped has been emotionally, though.
Having been so active, prior to my spinal injury, I was very downcast with being unable to access the countryside where I live, and my confidence had dropped considerably - especially as I had become so aware of people's attitude to me, when in a wheelchair or on my mobility-scooter.

I found people assumed I was mentally impaired also, or unable to do anything, physically, for myself - and was often 'grabbed hold of' and pushed along in my wheelchair, when my desire was to self-propel!
Being 'upright' again, and surrounded by the sturdy frame of the Veloped, I am 'protected' from being knocked over when in crowds, but am also very much back 'in control' of my own direction!

The glances I draw now, are NOT those of 'pity' at my being unable to get about, but admiration at the nature of the terrain I am conquering, and wonder and awe at the nature and design of the Veloped that is enabling me to do so!
I can honestly say that it has, indeed, been the most "life-changing" piece of equipment that I have ever purchased.

I also believe it will remain in the family for many years also, as, when I may have recovered sufficiently to no longer need it, my elderly Father has his eyes firmly fixed on it, for his use!

I am forever grateful to the Trionic Team for designing and producing such a wonderful piece of kit - invaluable to all of us who have difficulties with mobility, access and having the confidence to be ourselves!
Thank you so much!
