  • Sturdy Product -

Since I got a new car I was finding it more difficult to get the walker in and out of the boot area. Keeping the walker inside the cover has made moving it much easier. It also means any muck on the wheels doesn't transfer to the car before I get the walker home to clean.

The cover is constructed of a very durable fabric with 2 sturdy zips. It is an expensive purchase, but I'm pleased I bought it.

  • Finally walking again

Since my mom got this walker, she's been going for walks again. It was one of the best investments she's ever made for her health. She's happy every time someone asks her about her walker and her range has expanded many times over.
As a daughter, I'm totally happy with what I'm experiencing.

  • Trionic Veloped

Having seen the veloped advertised in Saga magazine and being not very happy with my current rollator (small solid tyres) I ordered the Trionic. Very impressed with the ordering and delivery process. On unpacking and assembling the device (very easy assembly) i went for a walk - it was brilliant. So manoeverable and coped with kerbs and pavements. Really came into it's own when I went to a food festival in the local park. No problem on grass and uneven surfaces. My five year old great-grandson was delighted that I could give him a ride home on it too. Absolutely delighted and I do hand out the cards to anyone that shows an interest. It is a credit to Swedish design and manufacturing

  • Heinrich Heiß, 72 years old

I think my Veloped is excellent. I walk my dog for an hour every day, which used to cause me a lot of back pain after 20 minutes. Now I can walk without pain. I've also hiked 10 kilometres several times (with my dog). My Veloped is a real eye-catcher as such a device is not known here.
I have one suggestion for improvement: the dog should not be led by the hand, as it is difficult to keep it under control. I bought a hip belt and a flex lead. This means I always have physical contact with my dog. I have attached a guide for the lead to the Veloped so that he can't easily escape sideways, which is very helpful. However, the connection with a padded pipe clip is somewhat unstable. It may be possible to drill a hole next to the joint into which the lead guide can then be inserted

  • An Indoors Walker

This is my second Walker 9er. We gifted the first one to a dear friend who was unable to buy her own and after a trial run it was clearly just what she needed to become more mobile. She is in her nineties and would agree with all my comments in this review.

So I made the purchase of walker number 2 and delivery was early, taking four days instead of the scheduled seven from Sweden to UK. The walker is a sturdy yet surprisingly light item. It looks as though it should be heavier. The wheels have solid rubberised tyres which have some bounce and make a soft ride. I use it mainly for indoors and shopping around the supermarkets. It has height adjustable handles and has provision for a seat backrest, but I found that the backrest was not very durable on the first walker and although Trionic replaced it under the guarantee the replacement did not last long, so I now use the new one without backrest. Quite honestly I found the walker more comfortable without it.

The two things which set the Trionic walker apart from any others that I have seen are the front wheel alignment mechanism and the hub braking system. The wheel alignment prevents ‘shimmying’ and is a marvellous invention. The brakes are smooth, powerful and easily adjustable. Occasionally the cables can snag on nearby furniture but that is not a real issue. However, a design that puts the cables inside the frame would be a great improvement both for convenience and streamlined appearance.

The walker stows easily in our ‘average’ saloon car. The supplied user guide shows how it folds easily and stresses the importance of locking the frame open to preserve the integrity of the wheel mechanism before use.

I also have a walker 14er for mainly outdoor use in town and on light, off-road situations. Plus, I have a veloped 14er for all-terrain walking. Based on my experience with these two larger models I would not recommend the walker 9er for rough terrain.

One criticism I often hear is that the Trionic range is expensive. Sorry, but you get what you pay for. Yes, the walker is not cheap but the quality of the item and the after sales service make it excellent value for money. Also, in UK, it is exempt from Value Added Tax.

  • Excellent piece of kit

I bought the Walker to compliment the Veloped I already own. I use the veloped for fishing and shooting and "rough" walking. The Walker on the other hand I'm using on tarmac and designated walk ways. I find the Walker very stable and with 14" wheels it could be used off piste if needed.

The only down side is that it won't fit on the back seat of my car without taking off the wheels; where as the 14" veloped goes in easily! Not a major issue really.

  • Trekking Again!

Bought the Veloped Trek. I have Charcot Marie Tooth Disease and have had increasing difficulty walking even with two hiking poles. Last week I was able to hike in the Beartooth Mountains and Yellowstone National Park for the first time in many years. The trek is amazing! Great stability. Made very well.

  • John and Sharon Hancock

I have waited to write this review as i wanted to experience my husband using it for a few weeks. We are absolutely delighted with it. my husband, once an active even hyperactive runner, cyclist and mountain climber is now quite disabled. he was unable to walk more than a few yards using walking sticks and we had resorted to regular use of a wheelchair. He is now able to walk so much further. He feels confident using it having been very frightened of falling using sticks. it copes with our village's very uneven pavements and it is easy to put in the car so we can have walks in the countryside. it has improved the quality of his life beyond measure. Thankyou!

  • Freedom machine

Bought for my mother who had cancer which was moving into the spine. She was never happy with anything but this machine was different. She called it her freedom machine and she went from not walking anywhere to walking to the local farm shop across gravel.
They are expensive BUT if you have the money then this is NOT a waste. She had a couple of weeks of independence before the big C got her.
